Selling Tips

  1. Make an easy transfer: Make sure that you have all the necessary ownership information for an easy transfer. All plot transfers must be approved and recorded by the cemetery.

    • Contact the offices of the cemetery.
    • Notify of your intention to transfer ownership.
    • Determine what is required for proof of ownership and status of transferability.
    • What is the transfer procedure? This may vary as most cemeteries have their own criteria.
    • And lastly, what is the cost to transfer ownership?

  2. The exchange of title and payment between buyer and seller is a private matter. However, be advised that experienced third party services (working for the benefit of both parties) do exist.

  3. Give a full description: Use words that describe the property, type and location. Use words that give a sense of location and feeling for the cemetery. Include relevant information like stacked plots or whether the spaces are next to or in the same area. Include anything that you were not able to select in the default listing options we gave you. Really, you should provide all the information that you would want to know if you were purchasing it yourself.

  4. List individual property prices: If you're willing to sell say one plot at a time listing the individual plot price is more attractive to someone rather than the total of all 4 plots. Think about it, if you're looking for a single plot, would you even consider looking at a listing at $5,000 when you would buy a single for $1,000. Don't worry, when they view your listing, it will show that you have 4 available and are willing to sell one at a time.

  5. Don't miss the details: Make sure to include (select) every detail that your property has when your creating your listing. Those details are used when buyers search for your property. For example, I may want to have transfer fees included for the property I purchase, did you mark that feature? If so, I'll find your listing!
